Mangalore: An elderly man was found dead at Katapady on Tuesday March 4, under mysterious circumstances. The deceased has been identified as 57-year-old Ellappa Hanumanthappa, a resident of Bijapur. He was  found dead a little distance away from his own house.

The body was found  in a sitting position, tied with a coir rope to the gate of a house opposite Canara Bank.  Reportedly it is known that the deceased had been working as a helper in the house of PC Pai.

Kaup police arrived at the spot and conducted investigation. The cause of the death is not yet known. A case has been registered in Kaup police station.
