Lokayukta police raid Karwar ACF’s Udupi residence

Udupi: A team of Lokayukta police raided  the residence of Assistant Conservator of Forest Ashok Bhat on the charges of having wealth beyond his known sources of income. Bhat has  a rented house at Kunjibettu near MGM College.

The raid began at 6.15 am by a team led by Dharwad Lokayukta Inspector BN Ullannawar.

In his absence, the Lokayukta officials also simultaneously raided  Bhat’s office at Karwar, Mundugodu and his own house at Honnavar. It was a joint operation by Dharwad and Karwar Lokayukta officials.

Around 5 years ago, Bhat worked at the office of CRZ, Regional Director, Udupi  and now works as an ACF at Karwar.

The valuables seized  from his rented house are 195 gm Gold, 72 gm Silver and a cash of  Rs 23.000. He also owns a flat at Udupi. Investigation is going on.
