Mangaluru: The Mangaluru City Police, on Monday, April 20, seized a total of 100 vehicles belonging to those who violated the lockdown guidelines.

Among the seized vehicles, 88 were motorcycles, four were autorickshaws and eight were cars.

It can be recalled that vehicular movement has been restricted in the Mangaluru Commissionerate limits during the lockdown. Even though the public has been allowed to leave their homes to purchase grocery items between 7 am and 12 pm, they have been instructed to walk to their local shops instead of taking their personal vehicles.

Despite the strict orders, many people have been found using their vehicles to go out.

Mangaluru City Commissioner of Police Dr P S Harsha informed that the lockdown guidelines will be strictly enforced till May 3 and people should not wander on the streets unnecessarily.
