Mangaluru: Mangaluru City Commissioner of Police Dr P S Harsha on Tuesday, April 21, announced that the lockdown in the city will continue till May 3 and that there will be no relaxations.
In an order, the compol explained that, according to the directions of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, the lockdown measures that were prescribed for the containment of COVID-19 will continue to be in force in the country till May 3.
However, essential and emergency services are exempt from the lockdown guidelines in order to mitigate the “hardship of the public”.
Commissioner Dr Harsha took to Twitter writing, “LOCK DOWN CONTINUES..NO RELAXATIONS .. TILL 03.05.2020” along with the order issued by the state government.

The order further states that “all Departments, District Deputy Commissioners, Superintendent of Police and other Heads of Departments” are directed to “continue to implement the measures present in force in the State as stipulated in the Consolidated Guidelines of the Ministry of Home Affairs” to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the state.
