Bengaluru: For the past three days, Bengaluru, the capital city of Karnataka that has the highest number of COVID-19 cases in the state, has not reported any new cases. This has come as a major relief to the state government, even as the state continues to report an average of about 10 new cases a day.

Bengaluru Urban has, till date, reported 89 COVID-19 cases and is one of the eight hotspots identified by the state government.

Of the 89, 48 have recovered and have already been discharged. As many as 37 patients are still being treated in various designated hospitals in the city.

Just like Kalaburagi, Bengaluru Urban has reported four COVID deaths so far. According to the data released by the government, 26,233 tests were conducted in the state till date, with 2,773 having been conducted in just the last 24 hours, News18 reports. According to the report, questions have been raised about whether the fewer number of cases have anything to do with the number of tests being conducted.

So far, Karnataka has reported 418 cases, which includes 17 deaths and 129 discharges.
