Ullal: A brawl between four drunken men resulted in a little girl suffering injuries, at Ullal on Sunday, July 17. However, while three men managed to escape in a car, one was nabbed by the locals and thrashed black and blue.

Four men, who were returning to Kasaragod from Mangaluru, stopped at a bar in Thokkottu to have drinks. After getting drunk, when the four returned to the car, they got into a quarrel and all of a sudden started pelting stones at one another. One such stones pelted hit a little girl identified as Ifah (6) who was walking along with her mother towards her home after purchasing medicines at a local drug store.

When the locals questioned the drunken men about their behaviour, the arrogant men replied that they could even kill the girl. Raged by this response, the locals started bashing up the youth. In a bid to save themselves, three escaped in the car while one, identified as Nawaz (30) remained at the hands of the angry locals.

However, the matter was later settled through negotiation.
