Putttur: The inauguration and annual general body meeting of Parent Teacher Association of St Philomena Pre-University College Puttur was held on July 16, at college auditorium.
The inaugurator Dr. Narendra Rai Derla, HOD of Kannada at Dr. K Shivarama Karantha Government First Grade College Bellare spoke on the topic ‘Role of parents in the education of their children.’ He said, “The parents play a major role in inculcating values in their children. Human values, social values and cultural values are very essential for a sound character and personality.’  
     
The Campus Director Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro was the guest of honour.  The Correspondent Very Rev. Fr Alfred J Pinto presided over the programme.
     
The Principal Rev. Fr Vijay Lobo delivered introductory speech. The President of PTA Dr. Sooryanarayana K graced the occasion. The students who have excelled in various curricular, co curricular and extracurricular activities during 2015-16 were honoured by the Parent Teacher Association. In the general body meeting, the selection of new office bearers was held.     

Akshaya and team invoked God’s blessing through a prayer song. The secretary of PTA Prahsanth Bhat P welcomed the gathering. The treasurer Anil Kumar proposed vote of thanks. Usha Yashavanth A compered the programme.
