Madikeri: Field Marshal Cariappa college will organize a special program to facilitate post graduate aspirants and general public to experience the campus on Monday, July 18 before enrolment to different post graduate programs. This is similar to the open house program held at Konaje campus of Mangalore University last year.
The program will be inaugurated by senior journalist G. Rajendra in the presence of Mangalore university dean Prof KM Lokesh on July 18.
Divulging details about the program, Principal Dr.Parvathi Appaiah said that it will give an opportunity for all to get information about various postgraduate courses in offing, hostel facilities at the campus, achievements of teaching fraternity, job opportunities and to interact with departmental heads. At the same time eligible candidates can collect application forms for various courses. She also said that the college has been recognized as one of the premier institutions and has also received NAAC “A” grade accreditation.
There are more than 1700 students studying in various disciplines. Students can opt for M.Sc in Physics, MA in English, MA in Economics and MBA courses. In addition, the college had started travel and tourism course last year, which is in great demand in the area due to extensive scope for tourism related activities.
Students belonging to backward classes and minorities can avail special government aid along with free education and hostel facilities in specific cases. Convener Dr Jagannath revealed other details related to the program in the presence of senior faculty members.
