Mangalore:The Lions district 317 D will facilitate free renal dialysis treatment for the poor at the Tejaswini Hospital , said Dr.Shantharam Shetty, Chairman, Tejaswini Hospital and SSIOT.


Addressing a press meet at Press Club on October 29, Tuesday he said that in the modern days when the treatment costs for the chronic kidney disease has touched the sky, the Lions Club has come forward to reimburse the cost of Renal dialysis to kidney patients with poor economic condition who undergo treatment at the Nephrology dept. of Tejaswini hospital.
The Chancellor of Nitte University Shri. N Vinay Hegde will inaugurate the unit on November 3 at a formal ceremony to be held at Lions Seva Mandir. State Ministers Abhayachandra Jain, UT Khader and CMD of Karnataka Bank Jayaram Bhat will be the chief guests.
Lions Club District Governor Lion MJF KC Prabhu, Chief Consultant of the Tejaswini Hospital Nephrology Dept. Dr.Shashidhar and Lions club district co-ordinator Lion PMJF PS Prabhakar were present at the occasion.
