Mangalore:MG Hegde, President of Tulunadu Rakshana Vedike has urged the police and the government to probe into the alleged visa fraud mafia and ensure justice to the victim.
Addressing a press meet held at the Press Club on October 29, Tuesday, he said that many agents of this mafia dupe the poor and take them abroad. Once these people reach those countries they are nowhere and they will be subject to various kinds of harassment and violence, he alleged.
He said that to curb all such things the Government should frame a law which will make registration mandatory to all such agents and added such a law will put an end to atrocities on innocents.
The victim of one of such fraud Ayisha who was also present, said that an agent called Khader had sent her to Saudi Arabia for work as a domestic help. She said she has been denied salary since eight months. She complained that she was not allowed to return to her homeland even when she told her employers about the sickness of her daughter. She said after repeated pleas, she was allowed to go only after paying a sum of Rs 1.25 lakhs. Ayesha said Khader was now refusing to return the money.
Ayesha said she has already lodged a complaint with Mangalore Police Commissioner seeking action against the agent Khader.
Tulunadu Rakshana Vedike office bearers Jyothika, Rashid Kunjathbail and Ibrahim were present on the occasion.
