Kasargod :  A state wide  general strike call given by the Left Front led CPI(M) was total in Kasargod district on July 10, Wednesday. The strike threw normal life out of gear with buses going off roads and shops and business establishments downing shutters.

The strike call was given demanding the resignation of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy over the solar scam. The strike was peaceful. The attendance in government offices too was thin.

A procession was taken out by the Manjeshwar Mandal Committee of the Left Front at Hosangady. Supporters of the strike also blocked roads at various places like Cherkala, Gadigudde, Arladka and Karadka.

The strike was however partial in Perla while it was total in Badiyadka, Mulleriya, Kumble, Uppala, Manjeshwar, Bovikkana, Kanhangad  and other places.
