Leakage in gas container that washed ashore

Kasargod :  There was some sort of panic among people residing alone the shore line at Bandyodu Muttam Berike on August 2 Friday morning when one of the gas containers that had washed ashore on July 23, began to leak. Incidentally, experts from Mumbai who had recently inspected the three containers that had washed ashore, had reported to the district administration that they were empty.

Sensing danger, the local residents informed the police. The police and fire service personnel who rushed to the place,confirmed the gas leakage and erected a fencing. They even took preventive measures to stop the leakage.

People along the shore line were also shifted to  safer places. The district administration has already instructed the authorities to watch the other containers  too following the gas leakage.

 As already reported, the gas containers that had washed ashore in Kasargod district recently were that of a vessel  that had capsized  off Oman coast on June 26.
