CET confusions, KEA repays Extra Fees

Bangalore: The never ending problems faced by the students in the already confusing CET admission process.

Although several colleges across the state have already begun class, a technical difficulty at the National Informatics Centre has resulted in students paying their engineering fees several times over, awaiting a letter of confirmation that never arrived. KEA officials, however, confirmed that the problem, a technical glitch, was sorted out on Friday evening and that the refunding process has already begun.

When several students complained that as much as three times the fee amount had been deducted from their accounts, officials from the National Informatics Centre discovered that a server error was the cause of the problem.

This issue began when the KEA announced that CET fee payments could be made through their online portal, to Indian Bank. “Students mistakenly thought their transactions had failed, because they didn’t get a confirmation that the amount had been debited from their accounts,” said an NIC official.

KEA officials confirmed that NIC employees rushed to the state exams authority when the problem was brought to light. “The problem was rectified on Friday evening,” he said, adding, “The online admission process is now being generated very fast.”
