Bangalore: The assembly opposition party leader H D Kumaraswamy urged the state administration in order to convene an express meeting to discuss the issue of losses caused to over 5,000 crore rupees worth of crop, public and private property, owing to excess rains and drought in Karnataka.
The state administration has failed in addressing the grievances of people affected by floods and drought, said Kumaraswamy. He also urged the state administration to convene a meeting to discuss the abovementioned issue in the interests of common man, urged Kumaraswamy.
The crops such as areca, palm, pomogranate etc are widely damaged due to torrential rains in the state. CM Siddaramaiah seems not making efforts to visit the flood-hit and drought hit regions to help the people to recover from natures fury, criticized Kumaraswamy.
Kumaraswamy also sought the CM Siddaramaiah to announce special package to areca growers who are distressed owing to disease that has destroyed their crop, because the amount announced seemed ambiguous, complained Kumaraswamy.
