Sullia : The Subrahmanya police have arrested a KSRTC bus conductor who hailed from Hassan and worked for the Dharmasthala depot of the KSRTC on September 3, Tuesday, on the charges of raping a minor girl.
The arrested is Nagesh. He it is learnt had come into contact with the girl who hailed from Sullia and studied in a college in Subrahmanya. The two came closer as the girl met the conductor daily while travelling in the bus. Recently, Nagesh managed to lure the girl and later took her to Bangalore where he allegedly raped her. He then dropped her at Sullia and then left to his native place Hassan.
The girl’s family though had lodged a complaint of missing was relieved when the girl returned home on September 1, Sunday. But shock was in store for them when she narrated the incident. She was soon taken to a private hospital for medical examination.
Following a complaint, the Subrahmanya police arrested Nagesh on Tuesday. He had reportedly confessed his guilt. He has been produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.
