Mangalore :   A  murder accused under trial  in the District Jail in Mangalore has reportedly assaulted the jailer on September 3, Tuesday. The jailer Vijaykumar Chauhan has lodged a complaint with the Barke police in this regard.

As per sources, the under trial named Soorya Kumar who was arrested on charges of  murdering an aged man at Barke police station limits, had held the jailer by his collar and even pushed him.  It is learnt, Soorya Kumar  was infuriated when the jailer who saw him speaking to another under trial named Pradeep  on Tuesday morning, warned him  against speaking to Pradeep.

Investigations are underway.
