Moodbidri : A Ksheerabhisheka was offered to Lord Shree Seetharamachandra of the famous Ashwathapura Shree Seetharamachandra Temple with an ardent prayer to the Almighty to ensure that the proposed 4000 mw ultra mega thermal power project did not come up at Niddodi. A total of 108 litres of milk was used to offer Abhisheka to the Lord.
Special poojas including Pavanabhisheka, Shatarudra Abhisheka to Lord Shiva and Manyu Sookta Abhisheka to Lord Hanumantha were offered on the occasion. Usually Seeyalabhisheka (Tender Coconut Abhisheka ) used to be offered to the Lord every year praying for good rain and crops. This time Ksheerabhisheka was offered with the hope that the project did not come up in the village.
P Prabhaker Bhat, Managing Trustee, Dr PN Lakshman Rao, senior physician, PR Ganesh Bhat, priest, Kiran Manjanbail, Convenor of Mathra Bhoomi Samrakshana Samithi and others were present.
