Madikeri :  A jeep rally organised by the Pioneer Club of Somwarapete in association with Kingfisher enthralled adventure lovers. As many as 72 Rallyists from Kodagu, Mysore, Hassan, Chikmagalur, Bangalore and Mangalore participated in the rally in their Gypsy and other vehicles.

The rally commenced from Silver Oak Resort and covered a distance of 46 kms  passing through Shanthalli, Beedalli, Kumaralli, Bachalli, Kundalli and Kottigallu. It put to test the driving skills of the drivers who had to pass through kutcha roads, steep curves and slopy roads. Several vehicles were even caught in trouble  due to slush on the kutcha road near Mallalli. 

Madikeri MLA Appachu Ranjan encouraged the rallyists by being the co-driver of one of the  vehicles. There were four women participants in the rally.
