Kundapur: Urban Development Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake informed that various self-help groups will be involved in the upcoming District ‘Krishi Utsav’ that is to be held on January 25 and 26 at Government Pre University College grounds, Koteshwara.




Speaking to the media persons, the minister said that ‘Krishi Utsav’ aims at encouraging agriculture in the district. He said Kundapura is known for its agricultural background were most of the people depend on agriculture for their day to day life.
He added that the Utsav would provide an opportunity to debate on the issues faced by farmers. Seminars will be held on the topics like ‘Intensive Farming Techniques’, ‘Mechanization in Agriculture: Opportunities and Challenges’, ‘Hi-tech Agriculture’, ‘Values in Agriculture’ and ‘Mixed Farming in Horticulture Crop’.
Vinay Kumar Sorake also said that 1 lakh farmers are expected to participate in the Utsav. The total expense is estimated at Rs 30 lakh to 35 lakh. To provide assistance to the farmers, government officials would also partake in the Utsav.
The Utsav would comprise of special expo on horticulture crops, decorative flowers and plants, farming equipments etc.
