Kodial Teru celebrated with great fervour

Mangalore: The Sri Venkataramana Temple at Car Street on Thursday February 6, witnessed a huge crowd which had gathered to be a part of the  annual Kodial Teru or Car Festival, which is a six-day festival which will culminate with ‘Okuli’ on Friday February 7.

The deity’s idol was carried in a golden palanquin from the Temple and placed in a decorated chariot, as people chanted ‘Srimad Ramaramana Govinda, Govinda.’

The idol was installed on the chariot by Sri Samyameendra Teertha Swamiji, the disciple of Sri Sudheendra Teertha Swamiji, spiritual head of Kashi Math and the Gowd Saraswat Brahmins (GSB) community.

After the Nitya Puja in the morning, religious rituals were performed. Rituals such as Gangabhisheka, Panchamrita and Shatakalasbhisheka were also performed under the supervision of  Sri Samyameendrateertha Swamiji. Poornahuti.
