Mangalore : An appeal as well as an assurance by State health and Family Welfare Minister UT Khader is all that took for the residents of Kodi, Mogaveerapatna and Kotepura in Ullal to withdraw their decision to boycott the Lok Sabha elections.

The residents had earlier threatened to boycott the polls expressing their resentment against the political parties for not coming to their aid despite their repeated appeal to release the innocents arrested in connection with the clashes reported from Ullal some time back.
However, Health Minister Khader who is also the MLA of Ullal had met the residents and assured to consider their demands and also to discuss the issue with the Home Minister.
Speaking to reporters on Monday April 14, Abdul Rahman, President of the Committee of residents of Kodi, Kotepura and Mogaveerapatna informed that the poll boycott decision was withdrawn.
Health Minister Khader was also present at the press meet and said that he held talks with the locals and convinced them to go back on their decision
