Mangalore: Mangalore Mayor Mahabala Maarla inaugurated a Khadi Utsav- an exhibition and sale of Khadi and desi products at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan here on Friday May 23.

The Utsav is organised by The Karnataka State Khadi and Rural Employment Board (KSKREB) in association with Khadi Rural Employment Commission and Department of Commerce and Industry. The exhibition will be open till June 1.

Speaking on the occasion, the Mayor urged people to encourage the fest by purchasing Khadi clothes and other desi products on sale at the venue.

The Khadi Board aims at crossing a business target of Rs 2 crore during the Fest.Handloom and Khadi producers from throughout the state are participating in the Utsav  which  also features  home made products like fruit juice essence, bags, show pieces etc apart from Khadi and Handloom sarees.
