Newskarnataka – Karkala

Karkala : Karkala’s notorious land broker Vishrith Poojary who had escaped  after fleecing several of lakhs of rupees, has been traced in Goa  by the Karkala police. He has been brought to Karkala now for further interrogations. The accused  who amassed huge wealth, owned five mobile SIMs and has reportedly cheated his partners and  those who trusted him.

Vishrith who is a resident of Anekere Bailadka Bhagavathi Nivas,  had left for Bangalore on February 17, but  was reported missing under mysterious circumstances. He had left to Bangalore  stating he had to   return  cash to Suraj and Ajay with whom he had partnered in land dealings. On February 20 afternoon, he had even telephoned his wife stating he was remitting cash to her account.

The complaint lodged by his wife Shailaja Hegde said his mobile was found switched off later. Vishrith and Shailaja had a love marriage. It is said with the hope of leading a life of luxury he had entered real estate business but only cheated his partners. It is said he had taken his two partners to Madikeri, showed them acres of land and introduced someone as its owner only to collect lakhs of rupees from his partners on pretext of purchasing the land.

However, he had fled the town on realising that his true colour stood exposed.Police who gathered information that he was in Goa trapped him there.

Owner of five mobile SIMs :
Vishrith had five mobile SIMs of different companies and used the five numbers (7259124239, 9739431049, 9916371469, 9743856667 and 9448515707) for his  real estate dealings. Moreover he knew different languages though his educational qualification was just PUC. The information was provided by his wife herself.

Further investigations are underway.
