Bantwal : The transfer of three police constables including one who was injured in the recent clashes  at Kalladka during a Congress Samarasya Samavesh,  has raised many eyebrows. All the three have been all of a sudden transferred to Joida in Uttara Kannada district.

Those transferred are Constables Pradeep, Kumar and another police personnel named Ramesh who was injured in the clash reported from Kalladka on March 8, Saturday.

There is an allegation that the dereliction of duty on the part of Circle Inspector Rajashekhar Mistri who was at the spot at the time of the clash, led to the aggravation of the situation. Along with SI Kumar, police personnel Ramesh and Murugesh were injured. The transferred cop Pradeep was earlier in Udupi for departmental training and Kumar was serving in Puttur, while Ramesh was at the spot of the clash.

Meanwhile, it is also being alleged that there were political hands behind their sudden transfer on charges of dereliction of duty. Police personnel are themselves wondering how far was it right to transfer the three when the election code of conduct was in vogue.
