Mangalore: The Mangalore City Corporation was yet for another chaos on Wednesday June 11, as JD(S) party workers took up a demonstration in front of the MCC gate.

The protest was held against the alleged abuse on their party corporator Abdul Azeez.

On Tuesday June 10, the residents of Kandak took up a hasty protest after they learnt that the Mayor has opposed their memorandum and sanctioned the ice plant in the district.

Regards to which, the additional town planning officer (ATPO) had alleged that the protest was a plot by corporator Azeez.

The JD(S) members picketed outside the MCC building against the officials for not responding to their needs and for not taking action against ATPO Shivaraj. When the protestors tried to gatecrash into the building, the police stopped them.

S P Chengappa, a JD(S) member alleged ATPO Shivaraj to be corrupt and stated that in-turn the ATPO is making false counter allegation of the JD(S) leaders.

They are building the ice plant illegally and the MCC commissioner should throw the ATPO Shivaraj out of MCC, he said.

When the people tried to enter the office, police blocked them and the protesters then started to demand to see MCC commissioner Ajith Kumar Hegde.

Ajith Hegde came out and accepted the appeal from the protesters, and assured that he would take the right decision after studying the matter.

A Vasanth Poojary, JD(S) general secretary, J Mohammed, corporator Abdul Azeez, Mohammed Kunhi, Ratnakar Suvarna, Ram Ganesh, Srinath Rai, Akshith Suvarna, R Dhanraj JD(S) working committee president and others were present.
