Belthangady : In an incident that has shocked JD(S) circles, the  party’s minorities cell president of Belthangady taluk has reportedly committed suicide. His body was found hanging in his house on September 10, Tuesday morning.

According to sources the deceased Haneef Laila had  left home for Kakkinje on September 9, Monday and had returned early in the morning. It is presumed that he later ended his life.

The police are not yet sure about the cause of the death though one suspicion is that financial problems might have forced him to end his life.

Haneef  was an autorickshaw driver and is survived by  his wife and four children.
Belthangady police are investigating the case.
