Illegal cattle transported to slaughter house, caught

Mangalore: A troupe of cattle smugglers were arrested transporting cattle in a pick-up vehicle at Falnir on Friday December 6, in the wee hours of the morning.

The prompt Pandeshwar police discovered a case of cattle smuggling, and learnt that an illegal transport of cattle is to happen. To which an operation was organized by the police official. In a swift of action the police seized eight cows which were being unlawfully transported.

According to the reports the cattle were being smuggled from BC Road to a slaughter house in the city. The police found six cows and two calves that were stolen from various places in Bantwal.

Police sources confirmed that the Bolero vehicle with the registration No. KA 19D7593 was proceeding at great speed and that someone who noticed this passed on the information. The police who were on the alert later then found the vehicle parked at Falnir.
