Bantwal :  Bantwal town police led by Circle Inspector Anil S Kulkarni and Inspector B Shekhar raided  a house  at Kaikamba Talipadpu near BC Road where an unauthorized abattoir was functioning, on August 6, Tuesday afternoon. Huge quantity of beef and  cattle heads were found in the house.

Police have arrested one person identified as Basheer while others managed to escape. It is learnt they used to smuggle cattle and then butcher it for meat.

Police have also seized a pick-up vehicle and an autorickshaw used by the accused.
Investigations are underway.
