Karkala : Jayaprakash Hegde, MP of Udupi Chikmagalur constituency and  party candidate has said that he has  sincerely served his constituency since the past one year and ten months. “ I do not need to take lessons  about development from BJP leaders. I have the satisfaction of responding to the aspirations of the people,” he said.

The MP was addressing the party workers meeting  at Sanoor Ram Mandir on March 19, Wednesday.  “It is Congress culture to respond to the needs and aspirations of the electorate. The BJP is trying to get chief publicity by claiming the achievements of the Congress as its own achievements,” Hegde said.

“  I have got sanctioned Rs 77.71 crores  under PM’s Gram Sadak Yojana for the Nitte Kemmannu Bola Barabailu and Ittameri, Bola Sacharipete Road. Even a sum of Rs 45 crore has been sanctioned for Karkala road development from Central  funds. Still it is ridiculous that the BJP  leaders are claiming this as their achievement,” he said.

H Gopal Bhandari, former MLA requested  the party men to work for Hegde’s victory in the elections.
Sanoor Shivaram Rai presided over the meeting. Block Congress President Sudhaker Kotian, District Vice President Santosh Kumar Shetty,  Taluk Mahila Congress President Malini Rai and others were present.
