Mangalore: An HPCL gas tanker crashed into a sand-laden lorry on the highway near Farangipete on Thursday January 23. The driver of the tanker was injured in the accident.

Both  the vehicles were passing through Mangalore-Bangalore national highway in the same direction, when the mishap took place.

It is learnt that the rear end of the lorry was hit by the gas tanker as the lorry driver applied brake.

The injured driver  53-year-old Mariyappan has been admitted to a private hospital.

Mangalore rural police and the fire service personnel rushed to the spot of the accident.
