Mangalore : The investigation into the Pandeshwar ASI Srikala harassment case is complete and the special committee has submitted its report to the Mangalore Police Commissioner. The report has said that the charges against the ACP Jagannath could not be proved and that there has been no sexual harassment of the ASI.
The special committee headed by ACP Kavitha was constituted by the Commissioner after there was a vehement demand from various corners to investigate into the case which had created an uproar in the Mangalore Police Commissionerate.
Pandeshwar ASI Srikala in her complaint lodged with the Commissioner Manish Kharbikar on May 23 had alleged that the ACP had not only denied leave to her but had also harassed her mentally and sexually.The ACP had been sent on leave following the complaint.
However, the probe report has said that the charges could not be proved.The probe committee also included Pauline Mariappa, Crime Branch Superintendent, Ramila Shekhar, Professor in School of Social Work, Kalavathi, Inspector and Hilda Goveas, Assistant Administrative officer at the Commissioners office.
