Bantwal: Satyajith Suratkal, Co-Convenor of the state unit of the Hindu Jagarana Vedike has alleged that the government was pursuing anti-Hindu policy and that there was no protection to girls in the recent times.



He was addressing a protest meet held at BC Road on January 3, Friday after a jatha was taken out in the town in protest against the Derlakatte incident wherein two medical students were kidnapped and then blackmailed after picturising their blue film. Expressing his concern over the rising cases of atrocities on women and students in the recent past, he also charged politicians of misleading the police in such cases.
Radhakrishna Adyanthaya, leader of the Vedike also spoke. Several including Raviraj BC Road, Convenor of Mangalore unit of the Vedike, Kamala Prabhaker Bhat, Chief of the Rashtra Sevika Division, Vittal Allipade, Tungappa Bangera, Member of BC Commission, Asha Prasad, advocate and others were present.
The protestors took out a jatha from BC Road Circle upto Post Office and from there to the Taluk Office. A memorandum was also submitted to the Government through the Tahsildar.
