Moodbidri, April 27 : A 15 year old girl who ventured into the Shambhavi river  at Alagundi  in Kadandale village on Saturday April 26 evening along with her friends, has slipped and drowned.

The deceased is Deeksha Safaliga(15), daughter of Ganesh Safaliga and Rekha of Inna near Padubidri. Ganesh, is a tailor by profession.

Deeksha who was a standard nine student  had come to her grand mother’s house at Alagundi for a religious programme and had come to the river side along  with her friends for a bath when tragedy struck.

Former ZP president Sucharitha Shetty and other local leaders visited the spot and consoled the grieving family.  Moodbidri police have registered a case.
