Kasargodu : Four persons were arrested by the police team led by DySP T P Ranjith for allegedly trying to murder an accused in the murder of Aziz from Paivalike.

The arrested are identified as Gopala(28), resident of KudreKodlu, Majid (30, from Badoor, Abubakkar Siddique(29) and K A Ashraf(28) from Bayar.

They had planned to murder the accused who was involved in the murder of Aziz a resident of Baikatte in Paivalike. They gave 25 lakhs as quotation to Gujri Hameed, Tyre Faizal and Asif. Rs 1.50 lakh was given as advance. They used to collect money forcefully.

Police said that total ten people are involved in the case. The group used to collect hafta and use it for the murder of accused in the Aziz murder case.

Money was collected from illegal sand transporters in Kumble, Manjeshwar area. Between Rs: 1500 and Rs: 3000 was collected per indivdiual. They had also attempted to murder Pramod, sub inspector of Manjeshwar station.

On Jan 25, 2014, group murdered Paivalike Aziz.

The operation was conducted by Circle inspector K P Suresh Babu, Manjeshwar Station sub inspector P Pramod, constables Pradeep Kumar Chavara, Sunil Abraham, C V Saju.
