Manipal : The Formula Manipal Team comprising 25 under graduate students has bagged the second prize in the Formula Students competition held in Germany. This was the first ever podium finish for the Team which had this time come up with a more compact design with less weight.
The Formula Manipal team had used a Honda CBR 600RR Engine and the car also had a Drexle Differential with a electro-pneumatic gear shifting and also a custom made driveline and uprights. The team also competed in the Formula Students even at Czekh Republic and made history by being the only Indian team to complete endurance for Formula Student Season 2013 which fetched them an overall rank of ninth.
The Formula Manipal Team was led by Aakhilesh Singhania. Rishu Raj Singh was the team manager.
Over 2000 engineering students from 23 nations took part in the events.Formula SAE (FSAE) is a competition organised by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) for students.
