Bantwal : Former deputy chief minister KS Eshwarappa has demanded a judicial probe into the recent untoward incidents at Kalladka during a Congress Samarasya Samavesh.








He was speaking after hearing the grievances of those affected by the incident, at the Panchavati Hall of Kalladka on March 11, Tuesday. Eshwarappa further said the Congress had created a rift in the society in the name of the Samarasya Samavesh and has also offended senior leader Dr Kalladka Prabhaker Bhat,. The BJP condemns this in the strongest possible words, he said and added there is no need for anyone to fear such sort of goondaism by the Congress. Eshwarappa also assured that the BJP was always with the people and will give a befitting rely to the oppression by the Congress.
He said the matter would also be raised in the next assembly session and added the BJP will also complain to the Election Commission as the congress had organised the convention without the permission of the election officer even as the poll code of conduct was effective; Also there was no sufficient security arrangements, he alleged.
Eshwarappa also strongly condemned the transfer of a few police personnel in the aftermath of the clashes due to pressure from the Congress and added the BJP has already met the Western Range IGP and SP on the issue.
He further said innocents have been arrested and alleged though a few actual culprits too were trapped they have been released overnight due to political pressure.
28 innocents booked : Bhat
Senior RSS leader Kalladka Prabhaker Bhat who also spoke, said the police have registered cases against 28 innocent Hindu youth and have booked them on charges of murder attempt. Four have been arrested and four others are in hospital. He alleged the police have not arrested those who resorted to goondaism by hurling bottles and stones. He said women were in fear as police are barging into houses in search of accused.
Visit to houses of arrested : The BJP leaders also visited the residences of Poovappa Tailor, Keshava, Guruvappa and Jagadish who were arrested in connection with the incident and assured of justice to the family members.
Women pour out grievances : A few women complained to the visiting BJP team of police knocking at the doors of their houses during night time. An elderly woman named Mohini explained with anger how police knocked at her doors asking about her son. “ I did not open the door, but when they tried to barge in, I held a knife in hand and warned them of dire consequences forcing them to return,” she said.
Wife of TP member Dinesh Amtur said the police are searching her husband but have not visited their house.
ZP Member Chinnappa Kotian’s wife said the police have unnecessarily booked cases against her husband,.
MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLC Ganesh Karnik, BJP leaders Rajesh Naik Ulipadiguttu, K Padmanabha Kottari, Srikar Prabhu and others were present.
