Mangalore : Each and every individual must plant a sapling and consider environment protection his utmost duty, said Uma MG, Dakshina Kannada Principal District Judge.


She was speaking after planting a sapling on the occasion of World Environment Day at the Kadri Park in the city on Thursday June 5. Uma further said mere planting of a sapling won’t do, the planted sapling need to be nurtured, she added. She further urged the people to minimise the use of vehicles as vehicles contribute a great deal to environment pollution.
O Palayya, Conservator of Forests of Mangalore Division said our existence very much depended on environment conservation. He also stressed the need to organise sapling planting programmes on a continuous basis.
