Eminent Aloysian Alumnae Awards conferred on 5 distinguished achievers

Mangalore : The Alumni Association of St Aloysius College  organised  Aloysian Conclave – 2014  wherein “Eminent Aloysian Alumnae Awards”  were presented to five eminent Aloysians and outstanding achievers on  March 22, Saturday at Eric Mathias Hall.

The guests were received in a spectacular band procession and were escorted by Prof Edmund Frank, Chairman of Organizing Committee  on to the stage. Prof Edmund Frank welcomed the gathering.

The presidential address was delivered by Fr Denzil Lobo SJ, Rector after which the awardees of the day  were felicitated.

The “Eminent Aloysian Alumnae Awards”  were conferred on five prominent achievers from various fields of the society.  Padma Bhushan K V Kamath, Chairman of ICICI Bank  also received the Award for his immense contribution in various industrial sectors around the globe. He delivered the Aloysian Conclave – 2014 address and spoke on the subjects of leadership and youth motivation. He said, ” Change is needed in the society and youth can bring this change.”

Lena Fernandez  was awarded for her contribution in the field of education. After receiving the award she said, “I would like to thank all the students  who  have been  along with me in the journey of my career. They are the rightful awardees.”

Allen Pereira, the Director of National Institute of Bank Management (Pune) was awarded for his dedicated service  in the field of  banking and social services. After receiving the award he said, “It is a great honour  and privilege to share the dais with such dignitaries.”
N G Mohan received the Award for his role in active social work and welfare of the district, he said, “I receive this award with all humility and am overwhelmed. I thank all the people responsible and my son for this award.”

Y Sudhir Kumar Shetty, Chief Operating Officer of UAE Exchange  was awarded for representing India in the global level and working towards economic  development. He said, “This is the most precious award out of all the awards I have received”
