Scribes make time to participate in fun-filled sports meet

Mangalore : The Dakshina Kannada Working Journalists’ Union and Mangalore Press Club together organised their annual sports meet at the St Aloysius Pre-University College grounds on March 23, Sunday.  Journalists enjoyed the day to the fullest  extent by  actively  participating  in the various sports events.

Raymond  D’Souza, renowned body builder and former Mr World said  participation in sports activities would help journalists relieve from their everyday stress and will also keep them physically fit.

Purushottam Poojari, Physical Instructor of Sri Gokarnanatheshwara College and senior journalist  Manohar Prasad were the chief guests.

Mari Hilda D’Souza, an outstanding veteran sports personality.  Uma Bhagyalakshmi  who had represented India in Special Olympics, Narayana S, trainer and  Naveen Kumar Jogi Kulur, national level sports person were honoured.

Press Club President Ramakrishna R,  DK Journalists’ Union President PB Harish Rai, Secretary Srinivas Indaje and others were present.

Various events such as cricket, passing the ball, needle and thread, banana and ice cream eating, musical chairs, slow bike racing etc were organised.
