Mangalore: Under the leadership of the District Youth Congress President Mithun Rai, a press meet was organized on Monday January 27, to inform about the  educational awareness campaign  “Vidya Sahaya Hastha”  which has been launched by the Youth Congress.

Mithun said the  campaign aims at sensitizing the public on the importance of the Right to Free and Compulsory Education Act implemented by Central Government.

 He said the campaign will continue till February 8. A total of 37,000 seats in the district are vacant due to various reasons, while a total of 1994 seats are vacant in 160 schools, Mithun informed.

He further said that as a part of the campaign, the Congress activists will create awareness on RTE Act, provide information and help people in filling the application. The party has also provided helpline numbers to make it easier for the people to get information on RTE.The numbers are 9886540999 and 9845655262.
