Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district BJP president Sanjeeva Matandoor released the party’s manifesto for the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) election on Wednesday, November 6, and has promised to provide all-round development of the city.
The major promises included in the election manifesto are a satellite bus stand, a satellite township with all essential facilities, upgrading of road, railways, autorickshaw park, multi-level car parking, round-the-clock availability of drinking water, upgrading of the Wenlcok and Lady Goschen Hospital, comprehensive development of SC/ST areas, speedy construction of ‘Ranga Mandira’, taking measures for upgrading IT park, rectifying problems pertaining to property card disbursement, proper implementation of the smart city scheme, forming ward committees for the development of each and every ward etc.
After releasing the manifesto, Mantandoor said that, though the Congress has ruled the MCC for many years, they have not taken up any projects seriously, resulting in the failure of many of said projects. “The unscientific method of solid waste management in the Pachanady dumping yard is a classic example of this and many families were forced to abandon their own homes because of the landslides in the dumping yard,” he said.
MLA D Vedavyas Kamath, district BJP vice president Ravishankar Mijar, former MLCs Captain Ganesh Karnik, Monappa Bhandary, ZP vice president Kasturi Panja and other leaders like Pooja Pai, Nithin Kumar and others were present.
