Newskarnataka – Mangalore
Mangalore: AAP’s candidate M R Vasudeva filed his nomination paper from Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha Constituency on March 22, Saturday. However, there was commotion outside the venue soon after when Robert Rosario former district convener of AAP openly aired his resentment against the nomination of Vasudeva.
Robert Rosario who was the district convener of the party when it was launched last year, alleged that Vasudeva is a part of NaMo Brigade and that his involvement with the AAP was a ploy to disrupt the party.
He said “M R Vasudeva is communal, he is not the right candidate for AAP, he is a NaMo Man as he had participated in a seminar organized by NaMo Brigade on Feb 14, 2014. There are many other allegations against him, on a personal front M R Vasudeva is a good person and I have respect for him but I cannot overlook the allegations against him.”
“I have summarized a list of allegations against him and have sent a copy to Delhi. A candidate must be chosen with acknowledgement and acceptance of all the party men. But M R Vasudeva’s candidature was made in a hidden way. Where are the other 10,000 members of AAP? Why are they not here to support him?” he questioned.
Further he said that the party workers do not approve his candidature and M R Vasudeva also does have a B – form and that there were many other requirements he lacked.
After submitting the nomination papers to the DC, M R Vasudeva addressing the media said, “I am a common man, if I am present at NaMo Brigade seminar or at the Congress office or at the BJP office it is because as a common man I need to understand what the other parties are trying to do for the welfare of this country, after all we are all working towards uplifting the nation.”
“The parties which have been in power in the State have not been able to understand the difficulties of the common man. But we will do as Gandhi said, ‘to wipe out every tear from every eye.’ This is the time to fight against corruption. The rights of the common man should be protected. Hence I am working for party. With regards to the B-form, it can be submitted until March 26, however by Monday March 24 I will get B-form”, he added.
Robert Rosario who stayed until M R Vasudeva filed his nomination and addressed the media, was about to be manhandled by a few AAP members who tried to pull his AAP cap as well as his spectacles. But other members who intervened, brought things under control.
