Bangalore : Come election time and political parties are always after film stars to help garner popularity as well as votes. In a way stars are much in demand during elections.

Party hopping has  also become quite common among stars. Starlet Rakshitha who had contested as  BSR candidate during the previous assembly elections and had very soon joined the JDS) has now joined the BJP fold along with her husband Prem.

On the other hand  actor Shivarajkumar’s wife Geetha Shivarajkumar is the JD(S) candidate from Shimoga LS constituency.

Similarly, actress Bhavya and  producer Madan Patel are to join the Congress at the KPCC office today.

During the tenure of the BJP government in the state, many stars  including Ganesh’s wife Shilpa had joined  the party.  Here it is worth recalling that actress Shruthi had quit BJP to join KJP  of Yeddyurappa soon after the party was floated.

It would be interesting to watch as to  how many more stars would plunge into the election scenario in the days to come.
