Mangalore : Candidates of political parties who arrive for filing nominations can bring along with them only four members, said Deputy Commissioner A.B.Ibrahim.

Speaking to reporters on the various guidelines for candidates, the Deputy Commissioner said candidates can take out procession while arriving for filing of nomination only after securing prior approval. He further said the cost incurred towards the procession will also be part of the poll expenses of the candidates.

The DC said as on January 31, there are a total number of 15,30,071 voters including 7,72,188  women and  7,57,883 male voters in the district. He further said 30,000 more names have been included in the recent list. There will be a total of 1766 polling booths across seven constituencies in Dakshina Kannada district, Ibrahim informed.

He said the 1980 Upgraded Controlling Units and 2520 Balloting units supplied by Bharath Electronics are being tested at the Mini Vidhana Saudha.
