BJP takes out padayatra against NH expansion project

Udupi : Shobha Karandlaje, BJP candidate from Udupi –Chikmagalur constituency inaugurated a Padayatra organised on March 15, Saturday by the district unit of BJP opposing the proposed expansion of the National Highway form Udupi to Teerthahalli via Hebri and Agumbe.A protest  held in this connection was led by Raghupathi Bhat, former Udupi MLA.

Speaking on the occasion, Shobha said the Congress government has failed to achieve any development, while  the BJP during its tenure had implemented several progress works. She said the Congress government had miserably failed to solve the problems of the common man.

Praising her mentor and former CM BS Yeddyurappa, Shobha claimed that the credit of  most of the development in the transport sector in the region  must go to him.

Raghupathi Bhat, Udupi District BJP President Tingale Vikramarjuna Hegde and several other BJP leaders including Narasimha Nayak, Dinaker Herga and others attended the protest.
