DC inaugurates two-day Beach Utsav at Panambur

Mangalore :As part of Karavali Utsav ,a two-day Beach Utsav was organized at Panambur Beach situated on the outskirts of the city. A B Ibrahim the DC and the President of Karavali Utsav Committee inaugurated the two-day beach festival here on February 22.

Inauguration was followed by cultural programmes and competitions such as dancing, singing, skating for school children, boating, swimming and sand-art and sculpture will be held.

Speaking on the occasion A B Ibrahim said various measures have been taken to improve the condition of the Panambur beach and the Sultan Battery-Tannirbavi suspension bridge. He has already informed the New Mangalore Port Trust to improve the road facilities. There are also plans to develop a permanent platform at the beach which would enable the place to become a tourist centre, he said.

As part of the fest a Kite show and the Prince and Princess modeling competition for childrens of 3 to 5 years was held.
