Mangalore : The Coastal Regulation Zone Notifications given by the Ministry of Environment and Forests led by Ramanatha Rai has been creating immense issues for the residents and the local fishermen residing along the shore line, alleged former minister J Krishna Palemar while addressing the press on Thursday April 3.

Palemar accused the Congress of failing to keep up to its promises such as scrapping of self-assessment tax and provision of single site approval in Dakshina Kannada within ten months of coming to power in the state.
Palemar said that the Congress which has failed to deliver its promises to the people of the district has instead accused him of not contributing to development during his tenure as MLA and minister. “ I have initiated developmental works worth nearly Rs 500 crores and this is also documented,” he clarified.
He pointed out at the various cases and issues such as cattle trafficking, the MRPL issue, Deralakatte incident and cases of communal strifes during Congress rule. Palemar also said as many as 86 cases of cattle trafficking were registered just in one police station.
He further alleged that the Mangalore North MLA Moidin Bava was involved in swindling public money by illegally awarding contracts related to tarring of roads to his relatives. He said that Bava is the sub-contractor of a Delhi based company called ‘ANS’ that takes up local contract.
