Mangaluru: Shooting a direct question at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, former minister and veteran Congress leader B Janardhan Poojary has asked if Modi will solve the Cauvery issue or not.

Addressing a news conference on Thursday, Poojary said that Prime Ministers like Lal Bahadur Shastry, Indira Gandhi and Atal Bihari Vajpayee had responded to the longstanding Cauvery row and now it was Modi’s turn to do his duty.
Talking about the confusions prevailing in the political circle, he said that the CM has done a commendable job by calling an all party meet with regard to Cauvery issue, but the BJP is creating confusions.
“There is a need to have single voice and stand on this issue. There is provision in Indian constitution article 262, where all members of parliament of any state can resign and create constitutional crisis to solve any issue,” he said and added that Yettinahole project should be dropped.
Talking about people like Congress leader Ibrahim Kodichal and CM’s media adviser Dinesh Amin Mattu, who had recently criticised Poojary, the senior leader said that the ones who criticise him get rewarded by the CM! He also questioned the powers of KPCC Chief Dinesh Gundu Rao, who recently said that disciplinary action would be initiated against Poojary. “Disciplinary action can be initiated only by the AICC and not the KPCC,” he said.
