Ullal : The Ullal unit of the CPI(M)  staged a protest  near the Tokkottu Junction  on January 15, Wednesday condemning the rising atrocities on young women in the twin districts and the moves by some organisations to communalise the incidents.

Addressing the protestors,  Yadava Shetty, District Executive Committee Member of the CPI(M) said the Hindu organisations  are resorting to moral policing  and are then  abusing intellectuals.  Referring to the Derlakatte incident, he said the police could arrest the accused on time  after rationalist Narendra Nayak and his wife Asha Nayak  succeeded in making the victim lodged a complaint with the SP.

It is wrong to blame the entire community if a person of that community erred, he  said.  “Inciting communal feelings is nothing but terrorism and Kalladka Prabhaker Bhat and Satyajith are doing such works. Why have they not  raised voice against Cyanide Mohan Kumar   who had killed 22 young Hindu women  after raping them, the Sowjanya rape and murder case and the killing of over 200 Hindu girls by the Dandupalya gang?,” he questioned

Krishnappa Salian, Ullal unit Secretary of the CPI(M), Padmavathi S Shetty, District Committee Member, Jayanth Naik, Vittal Sriyan, Vishwanath Kuttar and others were present.
