My devotion for Narayana Guru inspired me to make a film : Rajashekar Kotian

Mangalore: The up-coming movie ‘Brahmashri Narayana Guruswamy’ is all set to be  released in April 2014.

Rajashekhar Kotian, the producer and director of the film who briefed the media about the film on January 15, Wednesday said the film  is produced under the banner of Thungabadra Productions.”The movie is more than a story for me, it is my devotion towards the social reformer,” he said.

Adding to the details he said that movie revolves around  the life of Narayanaguru and the ways he adopted to fight for the cause of the oppressed in the society. The movie has been shot in and around Dakshina Kannada district predominantly in places surrounding Mulki, he informed.

With reference to the production he said that the movie has completed the shoot and is in its stage of post production where few technicalities need to be completed. The cost of the production was about Rs 1crore 30 lac wherein the quality was never compromised, he added.

The film which will be released in April is said to have a local release in the initial phase while in the second phase it will be released at State, National and International level as well if a good response and support of the audience is obtained.

The muhurat for the Tulu movie was  held at the premises of Shree Durgaparameshwari Temple, Mulki  a few days ago.Sandalwood’s popular ‘Challenging Star’ Darshan symbolically sounded the clapboard for the movie.
